Wrzosówka Waterfall

The sound gathers from a murmur to a steady rush, water flickering silver over dark rock before dropping in steps through a shaded cleft. Wrzosówka Waterfall is a natural cascade tucked into the rocky Uroczysko gorge of Karkonoski Park Narodowy, set beneath the craggy silhouettes of the Baszty Skalne and perched around 655 metres above Jagniątków. Spray beads on moss and fern, the air a degree cooler than the forest above. Once singled out as a natural monument before the war, it now lies quietly under national-park protection, mountain drama writ small.

Visitors follow well-trodden forest paths to the voice of the stream, pausing where the view opens on natural rock ledges. After rain and during spring snowmelt the flow fattens and the falls carry their song farther; in high summer the dappled shade makes a cool interlude; in hard frost the cascade laces itself with ice. Surfaces can be slick, so take your time. For travellers based in Świeradów‑Zdrój and the Izera Mountains, it’s a rewarding detour across the range—an intimate counterpoint to their broad ridges and quiet peatland horizons.
