Singletrack Glacensis

Tyres hum over packed earth and pine needles as a narrow ribbon of trail winds through the border forests. Dappled light, resin scent, granite under tyres; corners and short climbs hug the hillside. Now and then a clearing opens to rounded ridgelines of the Jizerské hory (Izera Mountains); a marker reminds you the line between Poland and Czechia is just a few pedal strokes. This is Singletrack Glacensis: a cross-border network that strings together the riding grounds between Świeradów, Szklarska Poręba and Liberec, letting you move with the terrain rather than against it.

Visitors come with mountain bikes and an appetite for flow. Depending on the season, the experience shifts: spring’s cool mornings sharpen the senses; summer afternoons weave shade and heat; autumn sets the forest glowing. Sections range from smooth, rhythmic contouring to firmer, rock-flecked passages — always close to the trees, streams and quiet. Take your time to watch for views through the canopy and to pause at the border. As part of the wider Izera Mountains escape, it’s a natural companion to a stay in Świeradów-Zdrój, where forest and hills are never far from town.
