Where to Park in Świeradów-Zdrój? A Guide to the Town Centre, Gondola and Spa

In 1524, the name Flinsberg was recorded for the first time—the name under which the town now known as Świeradów-Zdrój developed over the centuries^[1]. Cars arrived much later, but the problem remains much the same: you need to find a place close to your destination without blocking the road or assuming that a free space will be waiting right beside the attraction.

Modern-day Świeradów has several different parking systems. There are private car parks near the town centre and gondola, the SKI&SUN operator’s car park at the lower station, and the municipal Śródmiejska Paid-Parking Zone. These are not interchangeable solutions. They have different operators, different rules and different locations in relation to the Spa House, Spa Park, the Hala Spacerowa promenade hall and the lower gondola station.

The shortest answer: for the spa area, start with Car Park B at 4 Źródlana Street or with the marked spaces in the municipal zone; for the gondola, use the car park directly beside the SKI&SUN resort or Car Park A; for a short walk through the town centre, start with B or C. Drivers of large vehicles should confirm the conditions with the operator before arriving, because the published car-park listings do not provide complete information about vehicle height, length or motorhome access.

Three parking scenarios, three different decisions

Świeradów-Zdrój does not require you to leave your car in the same place every time. From a driver’s point of view, the town centre can be divided into three practical areas: the spa district around Zdrojowa Street and the Spa House, the gondola area around Źródlana Street, and the central car parks located a little farther from the main pedestrian promenade.

• Resort guests should expect to walk. Car Park B is the most convenient: it is approximately 50 m from Zdrojowa Street as the crow flies, and around 500 m from the Spa House and Hala Spacerowa. The car-park operator describes the walk to the Spa House as roughly ten minutes^[4].
• Gondola passengers can choose between the car park beside the SKI&SUN resort at 7 Źródlana Street and Car Park A, whose listing gives the distance to the gondola station as approximately 50 m^[3][6].
• Visitors stopping only for a walk can choose Car Park B or C. Car Park C is located at the intersection of Sienkiewicza and Wyszyńskiego streets; the municipal listing gives the distance as approximately 230 m to the main promenade and around 700 m to the Spa House^[5].

The most important rule is this: do not enter just “gondola” or “town centre” into your navigation system. Several different car parks operate around Źródlana Street. The address 7 Źródlana leads to the SKI&SUN resort, 4 Źródlana to Car Park B, while Car Park A is described as being at the intersection of Strażacka and Źródlana streets, with an address indicating Sienkiewicza Street.

Where to leave your car near the Spa House and in the spa district?

For a visit to the Spa House, the Mineral Water Pump Room, Hala Spacerowa, Spa Park or a coffee on Zdrojowa Street, it is not worth looking for a space “right outside the door”. The most sensible plan is to park in the central part of town and walk calmly to the spa complex.

Car Park B at 4 Źródlana Street

This is the most logical choice for spa guests and anyone wanting to combine a walk along the promenade with a visit to the Spa House. The car park is in the town centre, between sanatorium buildings, while Zdrojowa Street is approximately 50 m away as the crow flies. According to the municipal listing, the car park is monitored around the clock and operates from 7:00 to 23:00^[4].

The published listing also gives a rate of PLN 10 for parking of up to two hours and PLN 20 for a longer or all-day stay. For stays exceeding three days, a rate of PLN 15 per day is indicated. As this car park is managed outside the municipal zone, its price list should be treated as information from the operator rather than as part of the municipal tariff. Before a longer stay, it is worth checking the current board at the entrance.

Car Park B also works well for a short walk with a child or someone who would rather avoid the town’s steep sections. Getting to the Spa House does not require looking for a route through forest roads or driving up to the building itself.

Municipal spaces in the Śródmiejska Paid-Parking Zone

The applicable resolution of the Town Council, No. XXXI/222/2026, covers sections of thirteen streets: Dworcowa, Wyszyńskiego, Skłodowskiej-Curie, Piłsudskiego, Wczasowa, Majowa, Krótka, Widokowa, Piastowska, Parkowa, 3 Maja, Kościelna and Strażacka^[2]. This does not mean that you can leave your car beside every kerb. The fee applies to designated spaces, and drivers should follow the signs and the markings for each space.

The zone operates year-round, every day—including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays—from 8:00 to 20:00. At the time of verification, the tariff was: PLN 2 for 30 minutes, PLN 4 for the first hour, PLN 4.50 for the second, PLN 5.40 for the third, and PLN 4 for the fourth and each subsequent hour. A day ticket is also available for PLN 25^[2].

You can pay at the parking meter with coins or a card, via a mobile app or to a parking attendant. The paper ticket must be placed behind the windscreen so that it is clearly visible to the inspector. The inspector does not collect fees or sell tickets^[2].

This is a good solution for several hours, especially when a free space is available on one of the streets leading towards the spa centre. Do not assume, however, that paying for parking reserves the space. Even a permit for the municipal zone does not guarantee that a space will be available.

Parking at the gondola: the shortest walk or greater flexibility?

SKI&SUN car park at 7 Źródlana Street

If the sole aim of the day is to take the gondola to Stóg Izerski, the simplest option is the car park belonging to the resort. SKI&SUN lists the address of the lower station as 7 Źródlana Street and states that paid parking is available at PLN 40 per day. The same page lists paid toilets at PLN 3^[6].

This is a choice for convenience, not for exploring the town. Your car stays beside the gondola infrastructure, and after returning you do not need to go back through the centre. On busy days, however, the car park at the attraction may fill up quickly. The presence of a car park at the lower station is not a promise that a space will be available.

Before setting out, also check the gondola’s current operating hours. They depend on the season, the day of the week and events at the resort. The car park may operate on a different schedule from the gondola, so it is not worth arriving at the last minute.

Car Park A by the gondola

Car Park A is described as being approximately 50 m from the gondola station. The municipal listing gives a capacity of 200 spaces, an electric-bike and MTB rental service, and a souvenir and coffee shop^[3]. This is a convenient option for a family, a cycling group or a driver who wants to combine the gondola with a short stop in this part of town.

According to the published listing, the one-off charge is PLN 10 for the entire day. Here too, however, you should check the current price list at the entrance. Car Park A and the SKI&SUN car park are close to each other, but they are not the same place, and you should not assume that they operate under a single tariff.

Car Park A may be particularly practical for people with bicycles, as a rental service operates on site. This does not automatically mean that every car carrying bicycles on a towbar or roof will fit without difficulty. With such a setup, it is not only the number of spaces that matters, but also the turning radius, height and ability to exit safely.

Car Park C and Strażacka Street: when is it better to walk a few minutes farther?

Car Park C at the intersection of Sienkiewicza and Wyszyńskiego streets is an option for drivers who want a central location but do not need to drive right up to Zdrojowa Street. The municipal listing states that it is available around the clock, approximately 230 m from the main promenade and around 700 m from the Spa House. The car park is described as guarded, monitored and insured^[5].

The published car-park listing gives a rate of PLN 10 for parking of up to two hours and PLN 20 for a longer or all-day stay. For stays exceeding three days, a rate of PLN 15 per day is indicated. As with Car Park B, these are details supplied by the operator of the specific car park, so before publication or arrival, check whether the price list still applies.

The car park on Strażacka Street is listed by the municipality as open around the clock^[2]. It is for drivers who accept a less direct walk and want to remain in the central part of town. In this area, reading the signs is particularly important: some spaces may fall within the municipal zone, while others may be subject to separate rules set by the operator.

In practice, a few extra minutes of walking often solve the problem faster than circling the spa town’s narrow streets. This is especially true at weekends, during school holidays and on fine-weather days, when the car parks by the gondola and main promenade are under the greatest pressure.

Large vehicles, motorhomes and bicycle racks

If you are driving a delivery van, motorhome, minibus or car with a bicycle platform, do not choose a car park solely on the basis of its distance from the attraction. The municipal and operator websites checked do not publish a complete table of restrictions concerning vehicle height, length or permitted vehicle dimensions for Car Parks A, B and C. There is therefore no basis for promising that every larger vehicle will be able to enter, turn around and leave safely.

• Call before you arrive. For Car Parks A and B, the municipal listings give the operator’s telephone number, while SKI&SUN publishes its own contact details alongside the resort address^[3][4][6].
• Do not treat the coach rate as permission to park anywhere. The municipal resolution provides a daily rate for buses, but designated spaces and road-traffic regulations still apply^[2].
• With a bicycle rack, take the total length of the vehicle and rack into account. Do not stop in a way that allows a protruding element to restrict traffic or encroach on an adjacent space.
• With a motorhome, check not only access but also whether parking around the clock is permitted. The car park’s opening hours, monitoring and permission to stay overnight are three separate matters.

If the operator does not confirm the conditions, it is safer to leave the vehicle in a larger, clearly marked car park and walk into the centre than to try to squeeze a large vehicle into a random lay-by.

What not to do in Świeradów-Zdrój?

Do not leave your car on the verge simply because several other cars are already there. Do not block a barrier, service road, forest entrance or access route for emergency services. The rules of the State Forests allow parking in the forest only in places designated for that purpose and marked as a car park or stopping place; leaving a car in front of a barrier or on the verge of a forest road is prohibited^[7].

In Świeradów, it is particularly easy to mistake a road to the starting point of a walk for a parking space. A dirt road, widened verge or clearing at a forest junction does not become a car park simply because a car fits there. If there is no sign, assume that leaving your car there is not permitted.

Nor should you assume that the car park at an attraction will be empty in the afternoon. At the gondola, available spaces depend on the season and visitor numbers; in the centre, on the occupancy of spa facilities, restaurants and events. A Plan B should be part of your day’s plan: Car Park B or C, a marked space in the municipal zone, or a walk from a more distant location.

The most practical choice according to the purpose of your visit

For the Spa House, Mineral Water Pump Room, Hala Spacerowa and Spa Park: start with Car Park B. If there is no space, try Car Park C or legally marked spaces in the Śródmiejska Paid-Parking Zone. Do not try to drive right up to the building without clear parking signage.

For the gondola alone: choose the SKI&SUN car park at 7 Źródlana Street if the shortest transfer matters to you, or Car Park A if you want to use the larger car park described by the municipality and its cycling facilities.

For an hour or two in the town centre: Car Park B offers the shortest walk to Zdrojowa Street, while C is a good option if you are happy with a longer walk and want to leave your car in the central part of town.

For a full day with a large vehicle: do not choose a space at random. Call the operator, confirm the dimensions and rules, and if you do not receive a clear answer, park farther away in accordance with the signage and walk.

In 1524, the name Flinsberg helped organise the map of the former town. Today, the right address entered into your navigation system serves a similar purpose: 4 Źródlana leads to the centre, 7 Źródlana to the SKI&SUN resort, while Car Parks A and C offer two different approaches on foot. In Świeradów-Zdrój, the best place to leave your car is not always the one closest to your destination—but it is almost always the one that has been clearly designated.
